British Dressage Winter Championship 2022

Winter Regional qualification for Apollo and Nick Lawson, led to them securing qualification for the Inter I Gold and wild cards in both the PSG Gold and Inter I Gold music classes at the BD Winter Championships, held at Hartpury over Easter.

Unfortunately on this occasion Apollo wasn't confident in the big Hartpury International arena.

So after two very tense and uncharacteristic tests, we changed Apollo's warm up to help him cope better with the atmosphere and focus more on Nick in the huge International indoor arena.  This led to a much improved third test in the Inter I Gold music and meant Nick could ride Apollo and help him grow in confidence through out the test.

We are all so proud of Apollo and Nick for achieving a super 10th place in a hotly contested Inter I Gold music championship.

Sometimes we need adapt to help our equine friends even our experienced competition horses; and this was one of those times.  We never stop learning and building our relationship with our horses!
