After receiving a phone call from Fennels breeder Penny Podmore, a lady Nick had worked with over many years producing a number of horses from the Brownscombe Stud. Fennel was gifted to Mark and Nick to take on and produce for the dressage arena. Fennel is an upstanding mare with plenty of substance who oozes presence. She had never left the rolling Devonshire country side until she embarked on her journey to Corvedale. Since being here she has joined our main herd which has given her a tremendous amount of confidence.

The team here at Corvedale have spent the last 12 months developing her education, from desensitisation groundwork, long lining around the farm and finishing with her first rides under saddle. Fennel is such a powerful moving horse, its taken her some time to gain her confidence under saddle but with our trademark ethos of giving the horses as much time we have managed to develop her confidence accordingly.

Penny unfortunately passed away early in 2024 so didn’t get to see this beautiful mare under saddle and all that she is capable of. But rest assured Penny, Fennel is going to do you proud and will forever be part of the legacy you have left behind.
